Highly Commended Haiku

The Haiku on Hay Poetry Competition was run by the City of Perth Library in conjunction with the 2024 Perth Poetry Festival. I was thrilled to be awarded a Highly Commended Certificate for my haiku:

Haiku

It’s a little while since this was published but I remain delighted to be included with so many delightful and thought-provoking haiku in the Fourth Australian Haiku Anthology. It’s been sitting on my bedside table for some time and I’ve never regretted picking it up and opening a page at random.

Flow

Over ten years ago, I wrote a deeply honest and personal poem about the feelings and emotions around motherhood that my monthly cycle aroused. I still don’t have children.
